Friday 20th March

Good morning to all of our Prep children and families. We hope you have had a productive week at home. Don’t forget to continue completing assigned tasks and lessons in Reading Eggs and MathSeeds.

English:

Today Newcombe students will share their favourite book for Show and Tell. The students will continue to work in small groups on a variety of activities with a focus on recognising, reading and writing the letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case. We will also be completing some fine motor tasks to strengthen the muscle tone in their fingers, including cutting and pasting, using playdough and kinetic sand.

A fine-motor, paper-cutting worksheet can be found by clicking the Homework tab.

Maths:

In Mathematics, we will continue to revise counting, and the numbers to 10. Students will work on a variety of small group tasks and games, including counting collections of objects, and also counting forwards and backwards by ones. We encourage you to do this at home. You could count buttons, Lego pieces or pasta to count collections. We also suggest you play a board game using a dice. ‘Snakes and Ladders’ or ‘Trouble’ would be perfect.
